Singapore Airlines plane catches fire

A plane carrying 241 people has caught fire as it made an emergency landing at Singapore’s Changi Airport. Passenger on Singapore Airlines Flight SQ368 from Changi Airport to Milan said they clapped as the jet made what appeared to be a smooth emergency landing. But seconds later, the right engine and wing were ablaze, with flames engulfing the right side of the jet. The plane was about two hours into the flight when it turned back, touching down at 6:50am. In a statement, Singapore Airlines said the plane’s right engine caught fire following an engine oil warning message. June 27 https://goo.gl/sxfXcp Quite often events on earth can be seen through the lens of more than one cosmic indicator. To understand the Singapore Airlines fire we will first look at the chart for the Mars synod at Singapore. This occurred at the midpoint of the Mars retrograde cycle on May 22 when the Sun and Mars opposed each other. At Singapore both these planets were placed  significantly on

Huge Cache of Ancient Helium Discovered

A "huge" cache of helium discovered in East Africa could ease a decades-long shortage of the rare and valuable gas.  Researchers in the United Kingdom and Norway say the newly discovered helium gas field, found in the East African Rift Valley region of Tanzania, has the potential to ease a critical global shortage of helium, a gas that is vital to many high-tech applications, such as the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) Helium accumulates inside rock in the Earth's crust over billions of years, from the radioactive decay of the elements uranium and thorium. But the gas remains trapped in the rock until it is freed by very intense volcanic heat, such as that found in geothermally active regions such as the East African Rift Valley, Gluyas said. European SUPERSTATE to be unveiled

EUROPEAN political chiefs are to take advantage of Brexit by unveiling their long-held plan to morph the continent’s countries into one GIANT SUPERSTATE, it has emerged yesterday. The foreign ministers of France and Germany are due to reveal a blueprint to effectively do away with individual member states in what is being described as an “ultimatum”.  Under the radical proposals EU countries will lose the right to have their own army, criminal law, taxation system or central bank, with all those powers being transferred to Brussels.  June 28 http://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/683739/EU-referendum-German-French-European-superstate-Brexit The Total Solar Eclipse of March 9 is now beginning to create significant events in its wake. In general, Solar eclipses offer opportunity to redefine concepts of self and the roles we play in the world, or how we articulate ourselves in life. They are about shifting octaves in the nature of our self-perception and self

Expanded Panama Canal opens to giant ships

PANAMA CITY — A mammoth ship bearing 9,472 containers and the unwieldy name Cosco Shipping Panama completed on Sunday the first official voyage through the new expanded Panama Canal, a $5.25 billion project designed to modernize a 102-year-old landmark of human ambition, determination and engineering prowess. The Chinese vessel, which set sail from the Greek port of Piraeus on June 11, began its crossing of the isthmus from the northern Atlantic Ocean end of the 48-mile canal. On Sunday morning, it entered one of the new locks, on its way to the man-made Gatun Lake, the widened Culebra Cut through a verdant mountain ridge, and then the Pacific Ocean. Like the channel that opened in 1914, the enlarged Panama Canal is a feat of engineering, albeit one that ran over budget and two years behind schedule.  https://goo.gl/p4S460 The monthly lunar cycle and its phases is a natural and dependable time piece for understanding the nature of world events in the light of anci

Erdogan says “sorry” to Putin

According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Erdogan "is sorry" and is willing to deal with the crisis in the relations between two countries. Vladimir Putin has received a letter from his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressing readiness to resolve bilateral crisis caused by the downing of a Russian combat plane by the Turkish fighter jet last year, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Monday. Hot off Brexit, Vladimir Putin Goes to China

June 26, 2016 "Information Clearing House" - "RT" - As the whole planet attempts to digest the implications of Brexit, the real heart of 21st century action once again shifts to Beijing, where President Vladimir Putin on Saturday pays a visit to Chinese President Xi Jinping. Business will include clinching a $6.2 billion high-speed rail deal; increased supply of Russian wheat to China – by building a Trans-Baikal grain terminal; and steps towards deeper military cooperation. They are already cooperating on an engine that will power the new Russia-China airliner. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article44976.htm The Russia-China strategic partnership has taken one giant step forward just after the Cancer Ingress of the Sun. Why are American teens giving up on sex?

“Teenagers have sex. Deal with it.” That was a dismissive statement by a blogger in 2012 who taught at Yale University’s School of Public Health.Fortunately, teens did deal with it—by not having sex. They seemed to have missed this flippant blog and ignored this careless advice from adults who should know better. On June 9, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released the new 2015 data from the most recent Youth Risk Behavior Survey, which updates what we know about youth and their engagement in health risk behaviors. The results show that fewer teens are drinking than before, fewer are involved in physical fighting, and teen smoking hit its lowest level since the government began tracking it in 1991.But the big news is the dramatic increase in the percentage of teens who have never had sex. Since 1991 (the first year the CDC began tracking youth risk behaviors), the percent of high school students who have never had sex has increased 28 percent. In real numbers, that mean

Bees learn while they sleep

For all our obvious differences, humans and honeybees share some common threads within the fabric of life. Similar to our circadian rhythm, honeybees sleep between five and eight hours a day. And, in the case of forager bees, this occurs in day-night cycles, with more rest at night when darkness prevents their excursions for pollen and nectar. But, given that a hive's primary purpose is productivity and yield, why should a large portion of the population seemingly waste up to a third of the day resting? What are the benefits of sleep? “The proof seems to align with this concept that sleep is shared throughout all animals,” says Barrett Klein, a sleep biologist from the College of Wisconsin Wisconsin–La Crosse. “There isn’t any universally-accepted exception.” http://www.bbc.com/earth/story/20160621-do-bees-dream The astrology behind how the lovable little critter that has given us the expression “as busy as a bee” is also conveying to us the importan

Polyamorous relationships may be the future of love

As a child Franklin Vieux recalls hearing his school teacher read a story about a princess who had a tantalising dilemma. Two male suitors had been wooing her and she had to choose between them. Franklin wondered why she could not choose both.  June 23 http://www.bbc.com/future/story/20160623-polyamorous-relationships-may-be-the-future-of-love This article is part of a series on sexual revolutions published at BBC Earth. It offers an opportunity to see how symbols in astrology with their wide meanings can be interpreted in different ways and give rise to several closely connected events. In the last two posts we have discussed the combination of TNPs Cupido-Hades. In the first post [1] we saw that the combination was leading to Brexit because of a decline (Hades) in sense of family unity (Cupido). Whereas in the second post [2] it was about depressions (Hades) linked to family history (Cupido). In both these posts since Makemake was also involved we saw that the root cause

Not only trauma but also the reversal of trauma is inherited

Behaviors caused by traumatic experiences in early life are reversible. Researchers from the University of Zurich and ETH Zurich could demonstrate that environmental enrichment allows trauma-related symptoms in mice to be reversed. This is the first evidence that positive environmental factors can correct behavioral alterations which would otherwise be transmitted to the offspring. The symptoms and their reversal are associated with epigenetic regulation of the glucocorticoid receptor gene. Traumatic experiences in childhood increase the risk of developing behavioral and psychiatric disorders later in life. It is also known that the consequences of a trauma can likewise be observed in the children of people affected even if those children have themselves not experienced any trauma. However, childhood trauma in some conditions can also help individuals deal better with difficult situations later in life. This ability, too, is passed onto following generations. These findings have r

The Astrology of Brexit

Britain is to leave the European Union after a nearly half a century of membership plunging the country into unchartered political and economic territory and almost certainly spelling the end of David Cameron’s political career. At just after 4.40am in the morning the BBC declared the result for Brexit after a surge in support for leaving the EU confounded predictions and led the pound to fall to its lowest level for 31 years. June 24 http://goo.gl/6p7K1H I have explained in an earlier post [1] why the result could not have been predicted astrologically. Whether the Brits would decide to stay or leave was entirely up to the free will of the nation. However, we shall see here that the cosmic energies swirling up there in the stars were coaxing Britain to leave. To understand the cosmic energies at work, I urge readers to go first go through Nick Fiorenza post [2] on the March eclipses and more specifically, the lunar eclipse. Lunar eclipses tend to be more emotio

Colombia Farc: Ceasefire signed to end five decades of war

The Colombian government and the Farc rebels have signed a historic ceasefire deal, bringing them closer to ending more than five decades of conflict. The announcement is seen as one of the last steps before a full peace deal is signed, which is expected within weeks. Colombia's president and the Farc leader shook hands in celebration. The longest-running insurgency in the Western Hemisphere has killed an estimated 220,000 people and displaced almost seven million. The announcement in Havana caps formal peace talks that started three years ago in the Cuban capital.  June 24 http://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-36611952 The ceasefire deal was signed in Havana, Cuba just a few days after the Sun’s entry into Cancer. Lightning in Indian states 'kills 79'

At least 79 people have been killed by lightning strikes in the Indian states of Bihar, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh, officials say. Fifty three people died in Bihar. Ten people were killed in the eastern state of Jharkhand, and at least 16 died in Madhya Pradesh. Most of the people who died were working on farms during torrential rains on Tuesday, reports said. Lightning strikes are common in India during heavy monsoon rains. In Bihar, the deaths occurred in Nalanda, Aurangabad, Rohtas, Purnea, Munger, Gaya, Saharsa, Bhagalpur, Banka and Kaimur. Germany’s Rheinmetall unveils ‘anti-Armata’ tank gun

A new 130mm smoothbore tank gun was revealed by the German military giant Rheinmetall at the Eurosatory 2016 arms expo in Paris. The weapon is expected to be able to deal with Russia’s latest main battle tanks, based on the Armata platform. June 13 https://www.rt.com/news/346496-rheinmetall-new-tank-gun/ The New Moon [15ge] fell amidst the stars of Auriga the Charioteer and those in the lion skin shield of Orion, the Warrior. A modern day battle tank is perfectly symbolized by the ancient war chariot with an added shield or armor.  The New Moon chart at Paris has Admetus on the Ascendant in hard aspect to TNP Zeus and Pluto. Admetus rules obstacles so that here it signifies armor, Pluto is a disintegrating force while Zeus is guns. Finally, let us note that in the Uranus-Pluto-Zeus T-square, Uranus stands for scientific or technological developments. So we have a gun that can pierce the armor of a modern tank.

Rare bronze wing from Roman sculpture discovered in Gloucester

Aquila Imperiale Archaeologists have unearthed a greenish-colored bronze wing in England that dates to the Roman period, an archaeology company reports.  The 5.5-inch-long (14 centimeters) wing is small enough to fit in a person's hand, the archaeologists said. It's meticulously covered with detailed plumage, and was likely part of a Roman bronze sculpture of a god or goddess, they said.  The archaeologists cleaned and X-rayed the specimen, which revealed the wing's finely cast detail. The wing looks similar to those seen on eagle statuettes and other eagle imagery from the Roman world , they said in a statement. Details on the small, bronze wing suggest that it comes from a winged victory statuette of Victoria, they said. However, it's possible that it was part of a statue representing Mercury, a messenger god with wings on his helmet or heels, the archaeologists told Culture24. It's rare to find a Roman bronze statue, and there are few known depictions

Why North Korea is a safe haven for birds

Columba - Noah's Dove Photos from inside North Korea reveal how the ecology of the secretive Asian country is preventing the extinction of several once plentiful species of migratory birds. Despite being closed to most foreigner visitors, North Korea may ironically be the saviour of one of the world's greatest international migration routes - the avian East Asian Australasian Flyway. Fifty million birds, from cranes to song birds, journey along the Flyway twice a year. Eight million of those are shorebirds - or waders. And for many thousands of those, North Korea's west coast - on the Yellow Sea - is their sole stop-off point. US Senate rejects all gun bills

The Senate voted down four separate gun measures Monday in the aftermath of the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history — showing the partisan paralysis over gun control has barely moved on Capitol Hill despite the stream of continued gun violence across the country.  Lawmakers took up two separate issues involving gun regulations: how to improve the nation’s background check system for those who want to purchase firearms, and how to ensure those with terrorist ties do not obtain a gun. But those questions remained unresolved by lawmakers as of Monday night.   http://www.politico.com/story/2016/06/senate-gun-votes-224560 Lunations are among the important tools available to astrologers to understand where the cosmos is focusing its energies. 5,000 pigs killed in Saskatchewan barn fire

A massive blaze killed 5,000 pigs after two pig barns caught fire in Canada's Saskatchewan - a west-central province known for its prairies and boreal forests. Footage from the scene shows heavy gray smoke rising from the barns, which are located near the town of Leroy in Saskatchewan about 160 kilometers east of Saskatoon, the largest city in the province. The fire was first reported at 4 pm local time on Saturday. Several fire, police and ambulance units were dispatched to the site soon after. https://www.sott.net/article/320588-5000-pigs-killed-in-Saskatchewan-barn-fire In an orchestra, symphonic band or other musical ensemble all the members play in complete harmony with what the conductor wants. Why India's central bank governor is a hero?

Raghuram Rajan, the governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), announced on Saturday evening that he would not serve a second term, and instead return to his teaching job at the University of Chicago. Economic analyst Vivek Kaul explains why Mr Rajan may have been under pressure to quit. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-36573415 Raghuram Govind Rajan (born 3 February 1963) is currently serving as the 23rd Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. He was chief economist at the International Monetary Fund from 2003 to 2007, the youngest to occupy the position. He was a professor of finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business from 1991 to 2013, when he went on public service leave. At the Federal Reserve annual Jackson Hole conference in 2005, Rajan warned about the growing risks in the financial system and proposed policies that would reduce such risks. Former U.S. Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers called the warnings “misguided” and Rajan himself a &qu

Russia Lake Syamozero: Children die in a storm

Im-dugud-khu , “The Great Storm Bird” Thirteen children and an adult died when a storm caught a boating party on Lake Syamozero in northern Russia's Karelia region.
